After a solid training session in the pool, appetites were primed to enjoy the offerings of our Welcome Barbecue. Kevin has certainly got his cooking down to a fine art and food was ready as everyone stepped out of the showers.
This function was planned to welcome new members to the club for 2011 as well as those members returning to the new year. Karen welcomed everyone to the function and congratulated those people who swam in Sunday's Coogee Jetty to Jetty Swim, indicating that we are ALL champions in the water.
Just as the conditions seemed near perfect in the courtyard, a sudden gust of wind that tossed all of the serviettes up into the air and onto the ground gave a timely indication that it was probably time to pack up.
